Located on the east side of Los Angeles, we collaborated with ISO Architecture to create the artwork for Sage LA. Sage LA is an apartment building with a strong artistic mission aiming to integrate art, culture, and design into the lives of their residents while promoting a luxurious and relaxing lifestyle. With contemporary design, the modern building uses funky patterns, bright color, and interesting materials to create a vibrant space for its residents. From a dog washing room to a golf simulation room to a music room, we were tasked with creating art that fit each amenity room while relating to the overall mission of the project. This project was cost conscious, so we had to guarantee we could incorporate artwork for all the different areas into the project while remaining in budget. 

To fit the building’s artistic and funky aesthetic, we pulled art from our archives and our catalog that was abstract, playful, and expressive. Inspired by nature with a modern twist, we played off of the floral designs and integrated greens and earth tones throughout the building, even custom coloring multiple pieces in a sage green colorway to honor the namesake of the building. Using mostly silkscreens and prints to fit the budget of the project, we found different ways to make each space unique, such as incorporating a gallery wall or hanging a set of artworks together. We made sure that the artworks in the amenity rooms fit into each space, whether it meant using custom inks to match the tiles in the dog washing room or hanging prints that evoke the feeling of a golf course in the golf simulation room.
