Custom Spotlight: High Contrasts
When Hibner Design approached us with the challenge of transforming an empty wall in the clubroom of their Greystar Edge project, we were excited to help bring their vision to life. Located in Anaheim, CA, Greystar Edge is a luxury apartment community with bold and inventive interiors. The clubroom features an expansive wall measuring 18 feet high by 32 feet wide- an impressive scale requiring a thoughtful approach. The Hibner Design team visited our studio, bringing fabric samples and paint swatches to guide the creative direction. Drawn to our High Contrast silkscreens, they envisioned something that had the same design elements, but they needed more flexibility in scale and color.
To meet the project’s specifications, we transformed our High Contrast series into digital prints, allowing for full customization of size and color. Our design team digitized the existing pieces and developed three brand new compositions, resulting in a set of six artworks. Hibner selected six colors from our silkscreen ink selection, each chosen to coordinate with the accent pillows featured in the room. The final prints were produced on our handmade Japanese washi paper to preserve the texture and depth of the original silkscreens, adding an artisanal and handmade element to the finished pieces.
The result is a striking series of artworks that balance playful angular shapes with bold colors, seamlessly integrated into the room’s design. The set of six creates visual impact with their scale, while harmonizing with the interior palette, tying the space together beautifully.
